We try to work in small teams to tackle issues that are important to us.

Working conditions

In 2019 we conducted a survey together with the PIER graduate school concerning the working conditions of doctoral canditates. See below for the key results of the survey.

Diversity

At the moment some of us meet regularily to discuss diversitiy questions.

In order to tackle problems like personal crises or sexual harassment we teamed up with the DESY administration and created the DESY help webpage where the support structures at DESY are collected.

PhD contract

End of 2018 we achieved that all contracts for doctoral researchers at DESY were changed to "Tarifcontracts", which gives students better work conditions like more holidays.

As of July 2021, all DESY PhD contracts are 67% positions.
